“I get it. Well, I could take you to bed and make you forget it all for a while.”
Everything inside Erin lurched sharply, as if from an earthquake. She’d been trying to bury it, but with those simple words he opened wide her growing hunger for him.
Irritated with herself, she snapped, “Think you’re that good, huh?”
He amazed her by laughing. “I suspect we’re both that desperate. You think I haven’t noticed you eyeballing me?”
Oh, God. But she refused to be embarrassed. Far better to go on the attack. “You are a hunk,” she said bluntly. “So? Does a swelled head go with that?”
“No, but another kind of swelling …”
“Stop it,” she said sharply. “You can’t jump my bones yet, and I don’t want to jump yours.”
Damn him, he caught the one word that gave her away. Arching a brow, he repeated, “Yet?”
