The structure of quantitative data
ОглавлениеAll quantitative data result from the systematic capture of classified, ordered, ranked, counted or calibrated characteristics of a sample or population of entities like individuals, groups, organizations, societies, nation-states, places or objects. They have a structure that consists of three elements: cases, properties and values. Cases are the entities that are the focus of inquiry; they are instances of conditions, behaviours, events or circumstances whose characteristics merit the researcher’s attention; properties are the characteristics of those cases that the researcher has chosen to observe or measure and then record, while the values are what are actually recorded.
