Top:

Cam swaps are one of the most popular upgrades on the an LS3, and for good reason. Tested on this LS3 crate motor with Chevy Performance CNC L92 heads, the Comp cam increased power by as much as 70 hp.

Middle:

An LS3 crate engine served as the test mule, and it was fitted with a set of long-tube headers, a FAST throttle body and XFI management system. The crate motor produced 493 hp and 484 lb-ft of torque with the stock heads.

Bottom Left:

To make a stroker combination even better, you just add boost! This 4.0L Whipple pushed power into the 4-digit range.

Bottom Right:

One potential weakness of the LS3 (as with all LS engines) was the factory valvesprings. Adequate for stock or low-lift applications, the stock springs should be upgraded when swapping cams.
