Introduction

One of the basic needs for all humanity is to be comforted in times of personal sorrow or difficulty. Often that comfort can come through words of support and encouragement from special people in our lives. However, there are times when we are hungry for more, especially in times of need. God is the one who is able to supply all our needs; and promises us that if we call on him, he will be there for us.

God offers comfort to all who are willing to come to him. The invitation is extended to everyone.

Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, ‘Come unto me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’ This rest is not a temporary fix but a permanent solution; it is a complete rest for the soul.

This little book is designed to help you get in tune with this God of comfort and to lead you more fully to the one who is our ‘very present help in time of trouble’.
