If we had accepted traditional Biblical interpretation of homo-naturality as being an abomination, unnatural, and sinful, we would also be forced to say that all the good and admirable traits of our son were phony. Was our closeness to our son less reliable than the traditional interpretation of Scripture? But then we noticed that our Bible also taught us: “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit.” (Matt. 7:18, NIV) Because of what was plain to us about his character, we had to go with love and to be open to the possibility that we might be wrong about our understanding of Scripture on this matter.
