The sphenomandibular ligament
ОглавлениеThis ligament is also considered to be accessory. It comprises a flat band of fibrous tissue originating from the spine of the sphenoid bone and passes down to its insertion at the inferior margin of the mandibular foramen (lingula) (Figure 2.5). Again, its function is not certain, but it is thought to limit lateral condylar movements.
