My words will be like shining beads; like little, loving, tender deeds; I'll string them on a golden thread, a circlet from a Fairy's head. O take my string of little words, and some will sweetly sing like birds, and some will twinkle just like stars, and some burn steadily, like Mars. O take my little rippling rhymes, for some will have the sound of chimes, and some will have life's beat and throb, and some a laugh, and some a sob, and some like helpful hands will be outstretched to you in sympathy; and some may even have the charms of warm, encircling, tender arms! I will make rhymes for your delight; like little stars they'll shine at night; by day, they'll work a magic charm to keep our love quite safe from harm.
