ОглавлениеFirst and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Doris Lessing, who has had a tremendous influence on me and my work. My sincerest thanks go to Dr Emma Parker for her supportive and valuable supervisory guidance throughout my PhD research, which forms the basis of this book.
Gratitude also goes to the Doris Lessing Society, for giving me the opportunity to present aspects of this book at MLA Conference and in the journal of Doris Lessing Studies through the Doris Lessing Graduate Student Essay Contest. Several colleagues in different parts of the world gave support and encouragement along the journey of this book. I owe special thanks to distinguished scholars, Professor Susan Watkins, Professor Omer Sekerci, Professor Robin Visel, Dr Sandra Singer, Dr Cornelius Collins, Dr Lucy Evans and Dr Dorian Stuber for reading parts of the book and making throughout suggestions, comment and corrections. My completion of this project could not have been accomplished without the encouragement of my life-long friends, Ilker, Pim, and Joanna.
My deepest gratitude goes to my family, my beloved wife, Zeynep and our children, Ertugrul and Metehan, for their patience and support during my research. Lastly, I cannot forget my mother, father, and my brothers who have always believed in my potential.
