‘Not smart enough,’ Matt said grimly. ‘If you think that seducing me is about to win you a proposal of marriage.’

‘Win you?’ Daisy yelled in disbelief. ‘You see yourself as some sort of prize, do you? Well, so do I—the booby prize!’

He glared right back at her and there was a silence while the only sound which could be heard was their angry breathing. And then he dropped his bombshell. ‘That’s it!’ he said decisively. ‘I’m going back to the States, Daisy!’
