Surgery without Anesthesia!

How would you like to go through surgery without anesthesia? You would feel the pain of every cut and incision the surgeon makes in your body. Ouch!

Yet many try to go through life’s trials, which make cuts and incisions on their souls, without the comfort of God, which is like anesthesia to the soul. You need God’s comfort in life, or you’ll feel every pain life throws your way.

Jesus calls the Holy Spirit the Comforter, so when the going gets tough, ask the Holy Spirit to comfort you. Don’t seek comfort from secular sources (e.g. sex, alcohol, drugs, antidepressants, unruly friends, etc.,) which end up hurting you more, but seek comfort from the Holy Spirit.

God will give you the grace you need to face every situation. Just pour out your heart to Him and you will feel better. Sing a song of hope before Him. Your challenge may not go away immediately, but you will find the strength to face it another day. Draw from the well of God’s grace every day. Don’t let one day go by without spending time in His presence. When you are in His presence, the Holy Spirit touches and comforts your soul. His love and comfort is the analgesic you need to relieve life’s pains, and unlike other analgesics (alcohol, drugs, sex), this one has no side effects!

Prayer or Reflection

Lord, give me the grace I need to face anything that may come my way today. I believe your grace is sufficient to pull me through.
