To my dear mother, Neelam Verma. When I told my mom I got my second book deal, her initial response was a fearful Oh no!" She knew that my book deal meant a lot of work for her, in teaching me new recipes and going through the tedious task of standardizing measurements and using measuring tools. My mom cooks by sight instead of with exact measuring tools, which she finds unnecessary as they slow her down. Although she knew she had a busy time coming up, she was still excited for me, and she graciously took time to teach me her quick and easy recipes and to impart her nutritional knowledge to me as a dietician.
