Crew neck
The rounded neckline close to
the neck, concealing the
collarbone, emphasizes a casual
look and creates a naturalistic
impression. Although its
construction is simple, you’ll
need to clearly mark in the
creases from the sleeves and
chest to the waist.
V-neck
As it has a deep neckline that
reveals some of the chest, this
type of shirt can lend your
character sex appeal. Make sure
not to make the V too deep or
it can end up being too
revealing. This type of garment
works well with accessories
such as scarves or necklaces.
Henley neck
Having the buttons done up
or leaving them open can
change a character’s appear-
ance, creating a rough
impression or bringing out an
air of maturity. Apply a rough
texture to give the look of
waffle-weave fabric with a
bumpy surface.
Boat neck
The neckline is open wide
across the front and rounded
like the base of a boat. As the
collarbone is visible right to
the edge, there is more
emphasis on the line of the
collarbone than in a round-
necked version, creating a
fresh, elegant impression.
Front detail
This is a cut-and-sewn top
for females that incorpo-
rates a draped look in the
front panel. Draw in creases
in the fabric coming from
all four directions and
gathering in the center to
bring out dimension.
Wrap style
This design is defined by
fabric crossing over in the
front panel, as if to wrap
the body. It emphasizes
the lines of the body
while creating dynamism
in the clothing.
