Imagine for a moment that you are looking at a most ordinary car. It is, however, made of rubber parts. Fuel is poured into its rubber fuel tank in excessively massive quantities, more than its filling capacity allows and more than is required for traveling. As a result, the excessive fuel “expands” the walls of the rubber tank dramatically, thus increasing its size. It would be difficult to drive such a car due to its increased dimensions. The increased weight of the fuel tank with all this excessive fuel puts additional stress on the engine and transmission of the vehicle, contributing to their quick wear and rapid failure. The walls of the tank “spread” by the excessive fuel, stretch and damage the electrical wiring of the car, resulting in malfunction of sensors and indicators which often break down and misinform the driver about the speed and engine temperature. Using the example of this “rubber car”, I want to show you that something similar happens to a human body when the amount of energy received from the consumed food consistently and drastically exceeds the current needs of the body for this very energy. Daily consistent overeating, coupled with a sedentary lifestyle, creates an energy imbalance which, in its turn, generates “unclaimed” energy that transforms into fat cells. As a result, people grow stout and gain excess weight. Eating sugar, which is added by manufacturers to a large number of food products and drinks, also contributes to gaining weight and is also one of the main causes of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I am totally sure that none of us would like to become the owner of the above-described rubber car. Then why do we allow our food to “harm” our health, shorten our life expectancy by years and even decades, “reward” us with excess weight, make our bellies and thighs “swell” just like the rubber car tank swells with the excessive fuel? Who runs the house, after all? Who is the master? And who is the servant? Is it us or our food? The answer seems pretty obvious. Of course we, humans, are the masters. But, as it turns out, it is not so simple. Many people would like to lose weight but the harsh reality, in my opinion, dictates its own terms, and so the real chances of modern people to “defeat” their excess weight are extremely low. Bluntly, there is almost no chance at all. This book is meant for those who are interested in a story of successful weight loss without any diets or medicines, without working out, without fasting and tedious calorie counting. In this book, I will tell you my personal story of losing excess weight. My story turned out to be a success due to my own “Just sleep and lose weight” method, and I will be glad if my experience and my weight loss method will be of interest to the readers of this book, their relatives, acquaintances, and friends who also have excess weight issues.
