Queen
Queen Is My Street and Stage Name
Queen’s mom died in the streets as soon as she had the twins at seventeen. Queen was only two, and her brother Kendrick was one.
Queen was too young to remember her daddy or what his face looked like due to his magical disappearing act.
She heard he turned her mama out and had some bullshit traveling sales job selling whatever was popular on the streets. I’m turned out easily by the pole like my mama, and showing off my goods is making me popular like whatever Daddy doing, she thought, walking onto the stage.
*****
Trying to flame the thought away on how this man’s street role could be more important than to raise his own got damn children pushed her further away.
It blew her like the flame she blew in the air, thinking of different dance moves, hustling options, and the role she played, helping Granny in any way.
When their grandmother Liz moved to North Carolina, she took Tara, Kendrick, and the twins, Kacee and Kasie, with her.
Queen sent her granny money every month for them since their parents were still lost, which made shaking her ass simple.
She also understood why her mother ran away from her grandma Liz’s strict house rules, but to abandon your children, she never understood.
Watching the streets take hold of her parents instead of them taking hold of responsibilities made Queen hate both her parents.
Hearing the horror stories from her aunts made the shots go down smoother, but running from your children, she could never understand, and that alone made her not want any or anything to do with her birth givers.
Their grandma Liz didn’t play when it came to rules under her roof. She locked the doors at seven thirty, homework completed by eight, and no boys were calling her house phone. That alone pushed Queen to run behind Samaya.
Running the streets with her cousin Samaya was all she knew, and being hungry made the hustle come easy until the easy hustle took her brother Kendrick. That meant no more homeless, hungry-ass nights and chasing bums down alleyways, and she still got money as it came by, making the hustle more straightforward as she crawled on all fours.
The phones she sent the twins to keep in contact with her they used every day to call her for Kendrick. The twins reminded her of their eighteenth birthday approaching, so approaching the edge of the stage came with ease.
Hearing their voices made her hustle even harder, going onto the stage with all smiles, doing the splits to get a quick dollar, knowing her siblings wouldn’t suffer as she did. She did what needed to be done by any means necessary, wishing their parents would participate and make necessary moves.
Whenever Queen heard the operator end the call with Kendrick, that made her end the night with putting money on his books, and she didn’t care if it came from Merch, VIP, or the pole.
Queen always wanted her own money, crib, and clothes because she got tired of stealing shit.
After sleeping in cars on long cold and hot nights, twerking on that stage half naked with pride to get a quick dollar meant no more running the streets broke. But, I do be cold as hell on this stage in the winter months, Queen thought.
She never had options to ask her parents for shit or help from family, so that alone made her grind even harder and not deal with that friend shit. Therefore, going to work became her bestie with unwanted developed friendships with peekaboo, “let me see the dollar” boo-boos.
Asking clients if they wanted a private dance was more accessible than writing down what she wanted to be accomplished in the next five years because the money came that easy.
Queen went to live with their aunt Teresa for a few months until her Section 8 came through and did inspections, and she got tired of that hiding shit too.
That shit never lasted long, so they had to move around without Teresa just how they moved their money around, not to be found.
Teresa had caught her boyfriend looking at them one time, and that shit got him cut up and put the fuck out sooner than he could unpack his weekly backpack. With that violation, Teresa started hustling right along with them.
Auntie Teresa didn’t give a fuck about what they did as long as she got her monthly payments and flame when they rented their first house together.
Gathering her money up off that floor made her feel good that she didn’t have to ask anybody for shit or sleep in nasty-ass motels again or her aunt’s floor.
Flaming and taking a few shots before work every night made the performance and tolerance for some bullshit with the game go easy, so not giving a fuck about feelings came easy.
When it came to the pole, stage, or what people thought about her, she could care less. Long as I see green and they don’t get in the way of it, I’m good, Queen thought as the sounds continued. Poop. Bang. Poop. Bang, bang, bang, poop. Queen screamed so loud, you’d thought they’d shot her. “Get the fuck down, Samaya,” Queen shouted. Bang, poop. Bang. Poop. Bang, bang. “Queen…stay the fuck down,” Samaya replied. Bang, bang, poop, poop, bang.
When the cars started peeling off, they stood up, slowly looking around to see Rocky standing in the alley, letting his shit ring. Bang, bang. Bang. Bang. Poop. Poop. Bang.
Queen said, “Stay the fuck down, Samaya!”
Rocky said, “Motherfucker! Don’t ever come back here.”
Samaya said, “That’s Rocky shit-starting ass.”
They waited for a few minutes before standing up, but Queen was mad as hell that the only club that allowed them to start dancing so young was owned by Mr. Rocky himself. “Stupid motherfuckers,” Rocky shouted like he had done something striking.
Samaya had her pistol in her hand, but she wasn’t about to get shot or shoot for Rocky’s nasty ass. As long as Queen was okay, she was staying put.
Samaya said, “You okay, baby? Make sure you’re not hit anywhere.”
Queen said, “I’m okay! Are you okay?”
Samaya said, “Yes. Follow me to my house. Always starting shit with his crazy ass.”
*****
When they arrived at Samaya’s place, they flamed and took shots all night, thinking up a plan to get more money.
Samaya said, “I told your ass to start carrying that thang with you at all times. Quit leaving it in the car and house. What good is it if you don’t carry it? Damn!”
Queen said, “They just let loose on his ass. He probably on some fluky shit again.”
Samaya said, “They let that shit ring on each other. I don’t give a fuck. Think it’s time we move around and do some new shit!”
Queen said, “Look at how I’m shaking and shit!”
Samaya said, “That man bought you the gun for safety. I bet he thinks you know how to use it, huh?”
Queen said, “I do. I always forget it in the car. What the fuck is so funny?”
Samaya said, “Your ass lying. Tell me about the frog again.”
Queen said, “Fuck you, Samaya! He did jump across the lake and turn into Merch. That’s how I met Merch. Bitch, I’m not lying. Quit laughing at me!”
Samaya said, “Bitch, a lake though? Every time you flame, yo ass make up shit.”
Queen said, “I should have recorded the shit! You said you seen TT knife turn into a gun, da fuck.”
Samaya said, “I can’t deal with you. Give me the flame, bitch! Seriously, I know you didn’t hear the story I told yo ass. Give it to me!”
*****
That morning, Samaya was taking Queen on a mission to get her right. They flamed, ate breakfast, and flamed again, then headed out flaming.
Queen said, “A gun range, cousin?”
Samaya said, “This will get us right. All that nervous shit gots to go.”
Queen said, “Hit this shit! Let’s go, baby!”
*****
Samaya just stood there laughing at Queen fumbling because she was nervous, but all that shit was about to stop.
Samaya said, “Don’t be scared! Shoot dat bitch then!”
Poop, poop, poop, poop, poop!
Queen said, “Oh my gosh! Bitch, I’m shooting this bitch! You get over here, Trigger Finger Betsy. Let’s see what you do!”
Samaya said, “Girl, please! I was shook last night too! I would have shot back if need to. I knew what the fuck I was doing. Why are we yelling in this bitch?”
Queen said, “That shit was right next to us. Let me shake this shit off. Watch this!”
*****
Queen kept a bag fuckin’ with her friend Merch, and she loved this side hustle that came easier than taking clothes off.
He stayed 100 with her, and she stayed 100 with him, so their sideline business was business only. Being loyal to keep the bag and flame coming in was her main focus and him being happy.
Merch never wanted to get caught slipping by another mothafucker trying to come up, so he made sure they were strapped picking up and dropping off packages to the bank and clientele.
After handling the business, they drove around the lake flaming and listening to music while she slowly massaged his dick with her tongue. Queen made sure her daddy was pleased because he gave her whatever she desired and more from a man.
Merch never tripped about her side hustle being a stripper or asked questions about her family, which turned her on even more. The fewer issues, the better was her way of thinking because that way she didn’t have to think about them.
All she ever wanted was to meet someone as real as him with a lot of money, handsome, and simple with leadership skills. That made her mindset go from caring too much for him and not giving a fuck about bullshit she saw that she neglected herself.
Going from rags to riches within six months; finishing high school; owning a crib, two cars, a storage room with plenty of money; and most of all, being his lady friend.
*****
She chopped it up with her auntie for a minute, deciding on what she should do with her siblings and their living situation.
Teresa said, “The twins can stay with me until you get a bigger house. They’re letting your mom out early because she’s doing well. Hopefully, she doesn’t come with that bullshit ‘I want my kids back’ shit.”
Queen said, “Auntie. Were all grown now, fuck that! I thought you knew where my dad was?”
Teresa said, “He was at the strip club the other night.”
Queen said, “Oh my gosh, Auntie! Why didn’t you tell me?”
Teresa said, “You were twerking all that ass on him.”
Queen said, “Ick, TT. I’m talking about my father, not Merch. Ick!”
Teresa said, “Oh, okay. Could have sworn I heard you calling him Daddy. I know where your father is. Are you ready?”
Queen said, “Yes! Let me roll this flame real quick.”
Teresa said, “I see you’re getting nervous. Just say what’s on your heart.”
Queen said, “What the fuck does my heart has to do with anything?”
Teresa said, “Damn! You’re really messed up, baby.”
They drove around for hours looking for him, flaming back-to-back. They checked alleys, corner stores, where the dopeheads are, parks where the homeless hang out, under the bridges, and, last but not least, his mama’s house.
Queen said, “We should’ve come here first.”
Teresa said, “I don’t fuck with these people like that.”
Queen said, “He ain’t nothing but a crackhead anyway.”
Teresa said, “Excuse me! I don’t know who the fuck told you that. Just because he hangs out around these places doesn’t make him a crackhead. He blended in to make his money, baby.”
Queen said, “Can you take me home?”
Teresa said, “Fuck it! I’ll get his number. Stay here!”
When Teresa came back to the car, her eyes were all teary. She started flaming real quick, and Queen could tell she was pissed because she saw that look before and it wasn’t right.
Queen said, “What’s the matter, Auntie?”
Teresa said, “A bug just flew in my eye. Let me take you home.”
Queen said, “Auntie! You can’t lie for shit! What happened?”
Teresa said, “His sister opened the door, saw my face, and shut the fucking door in my face. Bitch, just pissed me off! Man…I wish I weren’t on paper. Let me drop you off. I’ll go to the barbershop and get his number from his fine-ass brother. Fuck her!”
Queen said, “Why she do that?”
Teresa said, “Your mama, Tamyra, and I jumped her brother punk ass for putting his hands on your mama.”
Queen said, “So, y’all was gangbanging and whooped on my father?”
Teresa said, “I didn’t say we won. His big muscular ass was slinging the fuck out of our small, frail asses. After that fight, I went and bought my first knife. Never again!”
Queen said, “Don’t forget to leave the car parked, TT. I’m on my way to my baby.”
*****
Queen walked into the room butt naked with her hair down just as he liked. She knew to whisper in his ear because it turned him on, and she loved doing it. He’s gonna give me more flame and money, Queen thought.
She slowly turned around, handing him the flame as she twerked in front of him, making her ass clap and bounce. Every time he smacked her ass, she twerked harder.
Queen said, “Make sure you handle all this ass before you bounce, Daddy.”
Merch said, “Bring that ass over here!”
She loved talking shit to his sexy ass for some reason that made him throw the dick faster and go deeper just like he went deeper into his bank account.
Merch said, “I’m about to put a baby in yo ass.”
Her pussy creamed from the way he grabbed her ass and pulled her hair. She knew he was about to bust when he slapped her ass as usual, and she always slapped the money from the flame into her stash.
Merch said, “Damn, Q! You are throwing that ass. Get this dick!”
My baby dick stays hard, Queen thought as she jumped on top of his dark, muscular, sweaty body, six foot four, juicy pussy lips, round nose, beautiful teeth, and no ash on his body, smelling good.
She sat down and rode his dick like she was dancing to become his first-prize lady-to-be. He cuffed her ass and pulled up as she went down, hoping that a baby had made a way to blossom.
Beep.
Not now, Queen thought.
Buzz.
Not now, Merch thought.
Merch picked her ass up and carried her to the shower where they continued to grind and suck. The steamy water was glistening off their beautiful skin, and that made her indulge in him even more, forgetting about the sideline.
Merch watched her rub her body down with moisturizer, looking at every inch of her, five foot four, bright skin, perky 36D, twenty-eight-inch waist, ass big enough to sit his drink on, hazel eyes, workable lips, long dark brown hair, and Brazilian-waxed tight pussy.
He tapped her ass gently as always, playing with a stack of money, and she took it every time with no hesitation. Queen knew when he was talking shit in a jokingly way and when to stay out of his way.
Merch said, “Go get that money, Q. Can’t be ashy.”
He handed her the pink 9-millimeter he bought her for Valentine’s Day as he watched her swish her juicy ass out the door.
Merch said, “Make sure the safety off. Don’t be scared to use it.”
Queen said, “I’m never scared! I’ve learned from the best, baby.”
*****
She pulled off as if she was leaving but parked down the street next to her auntie’s beat-up car that he didn’t know about and switched cars. She waited for him to pass, so she could follow his ass before she headed to work.
Toonie said, “Drop me off, Queen. I don’t have time for this shit. I’m not about to chase behind a man. Then to think my dumb ass waited for you.”
Queen said, “You’re always disappearing on us. Why don’t you fuck with us?”
Toonie said, “Queen! My mama doesn’t fuck with me. She’s done more for you and Samaya, and I’m her only child. Just take me home before this man sees us.”
Queen said, “You’re special! Well, take my car, and I’ll call you later.”
Toonie said, “Don’t call me from jail behind him. Seriously, your brother about to get out. I’m calling Samaya on yo ass.”
*****
Queen pulled up to her aunt’s house to handle some business. When she saw loose lips, Len, she tried to hurry and leave because she was on a mission.
Len said, “Hey…Queen!”
Teresa said, “You can leave it over there. When I get done with her hair, I’ll get the money from her.”
Queen said, “Thanks, TT. I’m gone.”
Len said, “These kids nowadays are rude.”
Teresa said, “Don’t do that! My niece doesn’t know you like that for all that hey shit.”
Len said, “I was gonna tell her some school chick is running around calling dude her fiancé.”
Teresa said, “My niece doesn’t give a fuck about that. What’s her name though?”
Merch
The Streets Don’t Owe Me Shit
It didn’t matter to Merch how much money he had as a unit with his family; he kept hustling and stayed loyal with his homeys from the beginning.
He learned a lot from their father on how to treat women with respect. He always kept their mothers in a decent home with money, best clothes, and cars.
Even though they had different mothers, he made sure his sons went to the same schools and stayed in the same house, never showing favoritism.
*****
Merch went to meet up with the club’s owner to go over some paperwork and some numbers before showing them to their lawyers. He brought trigger-finger Tee and observant joking-ass Ax with him because he didn’t know the scenery like that unless he was dealing with Queen.
Merch said, “This the new spot I was telling you about.”
Tee said, “It’s a few minutes from downtown. Then it’s on the strip where a lot of walkers and travelers come. This a good find, fam.”
Merch said, “It’s ten minutes from the airport, hotels, and the highway. A lot of money is going to come through with the right advertisement, new management, and staff.”
Ax said, “First, we need to get the construction crew to tear down the old letter and put up a whole new front. Then they got this fake security at the front with a dirty T-shirt on.”
Merch and Tee were laughing at Ax’s crazy ass when a skinny stripper approached them smiling, showing all her yellow teeth. They both looked at Ax because they knew he was about to say something about her.
Ax said, “Look at this shit! The front door has been kicked down a few times. Was that a bullet hole?”
Merch said, “Cuz, chill out! Aww, shit!”
Skinny Stripper said, “Hello, fellas. How can I assist you?”
“You can get your skinny ass out our face and go brush yo teeth,” Ax whispered to the guys. The guys started laughing hard as hell, hoping she didn’t hear him.
Merch said, “Can you please go get Rocky?”
Skinny Stripper said, “Right this way, gentlemen.”
Merch placed a twenty in her G-string, and she swished away.
Ax said, “I hope she gets a steak and comes back for auditions.”
Merch said, “Fuck that! We’re getting all new staff.”
Tee said, “Ax, man, your ass be going in. All this shit about to change real soon.”
Ax said, “Man, these drugs got these bitches looking sick as fuck.”
Merch said, “Right! Look at her, fam. Skinny ass popping pills and hitting the pipe in the dressing room. I’ve been here during the nights, and all the chicks thick as fuck.”
Tee said, “They’re doing it because the owner is allowing this sick shit.”
Ax said, “Look at this fat fucker! He stretched the horse out on the shirt.”
Merch said, “That’s dude fat ass. Looking like he ate all the dough.”
Rocky approached the guys with a big fake smile showing all his gold teeth. His fat-ass stomach was hanging over his belt with a sandwich in one hand, and he trying to shake their hands with the other. “I take it that you’re Rocky? Nice to meet you,” Merch said. “Yes, I am. What’s funny? I want to laugh too,” Rocky replied.
“Nothing. You got something white on your mouth,” Ax said. Merch and the guys shook hands with Rocky then went straight to the business. “He just used his shirt,” Tee mumbled.
“Okay! Now, I see a few ladies we should keep,” Tee said in a jokingly way to Rocky. “Follow me to my office in the back, and, Jill, go get us some drinks please,” Rocky demanded.
Merch saw her at his brother’s spot last week but didn’t realize she worked here because he was picky as hell. “Rocky? Does she come with the club,” Merch asked.
All the guys chuckled because she was fine as hell. Merch was trying to figure out how long she’d been working there because his brother Ishmael didn’t deal with strippers at all.
Rocky said, “Yes, she does. She’s new here. So, back to business. Here’s the number I came up with.”
Merch said, “I see, you went up, like, forty thousand. What’s that all about?”
Rocky said, “A new appraiser stopped from the city, said I own the empty building space on the other side. I’ll show you after we finish here.”
Merch said, “Well, my construction men Tee and Ax here can do the walkthrough with us. They’ll see how much value the extra space adds.”
Ax said, “Let’s do this! Let’s start with the empty side first. Then upstairs, so I can check for water damage before we go downstairs.”
After the walkthrough, Ax gave Merch an estimate on how much everything would cost for renovations and getting everything up to codes. Merch, Tee, and Rocky went over numbers, had a few shots, and flamed until they came up with an agreement.
Merch said, “I’ll have my lawyers look over the agreement when they get here. Then we’ll meet later tonight to finish signing everything.”
Rocky said, “All right, my man. Enjoy the VIP on me tonight.”
Ax said, “Merch…is he serious, fam? Hopefully, they bleach it first.”
Merch said, “Let us get the bottle. Thanks. We’re good on the VIP though.”
Rocky said, “I insist. Let my girls show you a good time.”
*****
Merch called his homey to meet him at the club to handle some business. When he arrived, they met in the VIP room.
Merch said, “What’s up, Swen?”
Swen said, “What’s up, nephew? Baby, go get us some drinks.”
“Okay, Daddy,” the baby said. Swen always had a female with him to make shit look good and not draw attention to himself.
Merch said, “Same ol’ shit! Learning from the best.”
Swen said, “Heard Pops is coming home soon? Are you keeping your hands clean?”
Merch said, “Yeah. You can’t hold a real nigga down for too long. Sorry about your little brother, Unc.”
Swen said, “Thanks! That shit fucked my mom and dad up. He was on some hero-type shit.”
Merch said, “I can’t blame him. I’d do the same shit if someone fucks with mines.”
They flamed a few before Merch made his mind up if he wanted the shit, like always. His baby came back in looking and shit. “Go find some friends,” Swen told her ass. Merch chuckled as he counted out the money for Swen.
Swen knew his best friends’ sons wouldn’t try anything funny because they grew up thinking that he was their uncle.
They were so into their conversation that they didn’t even notice that Rocky peeked in the room and turned around before they could see him. Rocky saw the pistols sitting on the table, a lot of money, and flame. His fat ass got spooked, hoping they didn’t see him because a mission just went through his mind that quick.
When Swen left with his baby, Merch went on about his business with Ax and Tee, talking about a layout plan.
Ax followed Merch out the club to his car, making sure no bullshit happened. Then Tee always walked a distance from them, so it wouldn’t look like he was with them. He would be the element of surprise just in case some shit popped off.
When Merch went to get in his car, he saw Samaya strutting through the back door with her nose turned all up.
Merch said, “What’s up, Samaya?”
Samaya said, “Nothing, nigga! Where Queen at? Ask her what’s up.”
Merch said, “That’s your fam. You should know, smart-ass!”
Samaya said, “Call her! Don’t be questioning me, Merch.”
Merch said, “Bitch! Quit playing with me before I smack the shit out of you!”
Samaya said, “Go on, Merch! Quit playing with me! Go find Queen.”
Merch said, “You got a man yet?”
Samaya said, “‘Do you have a man yet?’ The fuck!”
Merch followed Samaya to the back and smacked the back of her head. He made her lipstick smear onto her slushy cup.
Samaya said, “What the fuck, dude? You play too damn much.”
Merch said, “Bitch! Don’t play with me. Ask your cousin with your stuck-up ass.”
Samaya said, “Exactly! She’s your bitch! Not me…”
Merch said, “Shut the fuck up! Give these packages to Queen and Teresa for me.”
Samaya said, “This what the fuck you followed me for? I’m not a delivery service, nigga.”
Merch said, “Do as you’re told, smart-ass! You smoke the shit? Miss delivery.”
*****
Merch’s text to Queen: “When you come to work tonight I’ll be here.”
Queen’s text to Merch: “okay! bring some money.”
*****
Merch went to his mom’s crib to change and talk numbers with his accountant. Then he met up with Ax and Tee to make packages. He had plans to deliver a few before heading back to the club.
Ax said, “Let me take it up? I want to see her fine ass.”
Merch said, “Yeah, if I go. I’m staying there for a few minutes.”
Tee said, “We’re not waiting on fam tonight unless she got some friends in that bitch.”
Merch said, “Run that shit, fam! We have a few more drops, and I have places to be.”
When they finished making runs, they headed for the club, but they stopped for some Swishers and Backwoods first.
Merch said, “Look at the ass on her. Got damn!”
Tee said, “What her face look like, though?”
Ax said, “Turn around, turn around. Ohhh, noooo! Fam…”
Merch said, “Nope! Couldn’t do it. Her face is all wrong.”
Tee said, “You don’t have to look at her face though, fam.”
Ax said, “Well, she looks like a skipper. Skip my big-ass nose, skip my droopy bottom lip, skip my dark-ass eyes, and skip on to this ass. Fam! Start looking at the face too. Shit! I forgot. Look at your baby moms.”
Tee said, “I told y’all! That bitch took the dick when I was drunk.”
Merch said, “My dick not working if I’m not awake. He got a sensor with eyes. Pretty face, pretty pussy alert. He’s not going!”
Ax said, “I don’t give a fuck if the bitch ass fat. If she’s ugly and we fuck, it’s a possibility we can get pregnant. Nope! Hit this shit, fam. Get out the trance of her ass.”
Merch said, “This the last drop. I’ll be right back.”
Ax said, “Fam! You know she is about to be on your ass.”
Tee said, “Let me go, fam? Just wave to her from the car. I’ll tell her your stomach hurt.”
They laughed so hard to the point Ax started choking off the smoke. Merch was holding his stomach but went to drop it off anyway.
*****
When they pulled up to the club, they saw Teresa bending over in the trunk getting some bags out then heading into the back door.
Ax said, “If all them strippers are going through the back door, we need to hire some dancers quickly.”
Merch said, “My girl, and her family, the finest ones in this piece that I’ve seen. It’s a few that I think we should keep, but we should wait until after tonight to make our decision. The night chicks look better than the daytime dancers anyway.”
Tee said, “Morning dancers get high all night, then drag dance all day. The night dancers get their beauty sleep all day, shop, and dream of hustling.”
Ax said, “I’m so high that shit made sense, fam.”
Merch said, “Beauty sleep? I guess we were the beast then.”
Tee said, “Ask a night dancer what she does all day?”
Merch said, “Queen sleeps and shops.”
Ax said, “Fam, stop it! He got you believing that shit!”
They sat out in the truck flaming until everybody else arrived. The guys went in the club like a mob, and Merch saw Queen standing at the bar talking to one of her regulars. He didn’t bother her until she walked over to him on her way to the dressing room.
Merch said, “Why do you still have street clothes on?”
Following yo monkey ass, and getting addresses, Queen thought. She held that shit in because she knew he’d carry her ass to the back. She didn’t want to fuck up all the money she was about to make off him and the club.
Queen said, “Just walked in, and he waved for me to come over.”
Merch said, “I don’t see a tip. Time is money, right?”
Queen said, “Where’s my package? Follow me, so I can show you where the tip at.”
Merch said, “In the back with your fam. Not right now, Q.”
Queen said, “When have you ever turned down my juices?”
Merch said, “Not right now Q. Later…Quit playing with me.”
Queen said, “Okay, playa!”
Merch said, “Don’t say that shit to me! When have you ever saw me playing? I’ll see you later.”
