While strolling down sweet Sandgate-street,

A man o' war's blade I chanc'd to meet;

To the sign of the Ship I haul'd him in,

To drink a good glass till the tide came in.

I took in tow young Squinting Meg,

My friend haul'd Oyster Mally in,

And we jigg'd them about till the tide came in.
