Sometimes your wife is the joy of your life,

And sometimes your heartache and sorrow.

You do something today and she says it’s ok,

But don’t you dare do it tomorrow.

Or you’ll have to explain to her once again

That she took what you said the wrong way

And you say you regret, but she’ll not forget

‘Tis the same as it was yesterday

So you buy her rose your love to disclose,

And to show her that you’re really sorry.

She says it’s all right. She forgives you tonight,

But tomorrow’s a whole different story.

No use to complain. It’s always the same.

You know you’re just wasting your time.

Even though you are right, you can try all you like;

Your explanation is not worth a dime.

Now what’s that I hear. She just called me “DEAR”,

Everything’s back to normal again.

And even though she’s my wife, she’s still the joy of my life.

And she’s worth all the heartache and pain.

And now it appears that after 50 long years,

I’m resigned to always do things her way.

For I know that tonight she’ll treat me just right,

And all the heartache and pain goes away.

Now that I’ve figured it out, no more she will shout.

After 50 long years I surrender.

And if I do things her way each and every day,

At night I’m the dominant gender.

So I’ve got some advice if you’re seeking a wife:

“Go always with whatever she says.”

Just listen to my song and you can’t go wrong.

You’ll be happy the rest of your days….
