I have come to understand that to be successful in almost any endeavour, or indeed in life itself you need people who believe in you. People who, without strings, impart something of themselves into your life. I have been most fortunate to have known such people.
Dedication:-
I dedicate this work to my family. To my wife Deborah who spent many hours assisting me. My daughters and their husbands Rachel and Shane, Emma and Ben. To our beautiful grandchildren, every one precious.
In Memory:-
Of my mother, Dorothy. God's gift to her seven children and to all those whose lives she touched. A lady who fought the odds and won.
My Father, James Blake, a veteran of the Middle East Campaign during World War Two. A man who became a lost soul due to the consequences of horrors seen and actions he was called upon to do.
My Special Thanks To:-
Jim Dwyer who, when I was almost down and not quite out offered me the hand of friendship, the benefit of his wisdom and unqualified support. A friend and a mentor who took a risk and allowed me to be who I was.
Claire Johnson who took time out of her busy life to review my early work and set me in the right direction. Anything in life we give or lose can be replaced, however, our time, when it is gone, it is gone.
Maryclaire Andrews, generous of heart, encouraging and avid reader.
To all of the people who indulged me by reading the draft copies.
