My father said that he took risks because he had children to care for. I always thought that he took risks because he was superman. Whatever the matter, from him I learned to be fearless.

From my mother, I learned other lessons: to cook, to love, to pray, to forgive, to laugh out loud and often at one’s self.

From them both, I've learned to relish balance.
