About the author
ОглавлениеBarry H. Young is better known as an author of historical literature. He has forged a reputation as Australia’s most prominent author of American Western Frontier novels. River of Dreams, Reign of Terror, Shadows on the Lonesome Trail and Triumph of Hate are some of his best-known works. His writings have been described as ‘pure poetry’.
Barry retired from a successful career as the director of sales and marketing with the Gas and Fuel Corporation of Victoria and, after moving to New South Wales, was engaged by John Hossack Funeral Services in Albury to conduct non-religious fineral services.
He has carried out this work for many years and now looks upon the conducting of funeral services as a calling. He is always mindful of a family’s grief and brings them comfort and new found strength. The personal satisfaction he has received in this calling has compelled him to share his knowledge and experiences with aspiring funeral celebrants.
Barry has been a member of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants since 1998. He From his many years as a funeral celebrant, he has put together a vast range of information that makes this book a compulsory study for all existing and aspiring funeral celebrants. His uniquely structured funeral services and his creative writing experience has put new meaning into this solemn and heart-wrenching occasion.
Barry was awarded an Order of Australia on Australia Day in 2008 for meritorious service to the community through support for a range of youth, service and aged care organisations and grief counselling.
He lives with his wife, Bev, and family in the beautiful Thurgoona Valley in New South Wales.
