About the Author

Jenny Grossenbacher has a BA in philosophy and a BS in Fish Wildlife Biology. While working as a backpacking guide in New Mexico in 1988 she met Brian, also a guide. After a youth of worm fishing on White Rock Lake in Dallas, Brian led Jenny to take up the higher pursuits of fly fishing. She has avidly fished and explored the Rocky Mountains ever since.

In addition to guiding fly fishing trips for more than 13 years, Jenny has led grizzly bear research projects in both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, and songbird studies throughout Southwest Montana.

She has appeared as guest host on Flyfishing America, and Gray's Sporting Journal Television. Jenny was also selected as one of twelve international anglers to participate in ESPN's 2001 Great Outdoor Games in Lake Placid, New York where she competed with some of the best anglers in the world including casting champions from three countries. In 2002 Jenny competed and placed 2nd in ESPN's 2002 Rocky Mountain Team Flyfishing Championships where she was an integral part of Team Sage.

Jenny has published articles and been featured in an assortment of publications including American Angler, Big Sky Journal, Gray's Sporting Journal, Saltwater Sportsman, Women & Fitness, Sporting Classics, Northwest Flyfishing, Saltwater Fly Fishing, Rocky Mountain Game & Fish, Wild On The Fly, and Outdoor America magazines. She has also appeared in several outdoor calendars as well as in the LL Bean, Dan Bailey, The Fly Shop, and Simms product catalogs. She has served as a board member for the Federation of Fly Fishers, Headwaters Chapter.

Jenny and Brian have two daughters, Mackenzie and Sable as well as four Labrador Retrievers, including two rescued from the Yellowstone River. They have called Montana home for more than 17 years.
