Autograft, allograft, demineralized bone matrix, ceramics (e.g., tricalcium phosphate), growth factors (e.g., BMP-2 and BMP-7), platelet-rich plasma, bone marrow aspirate, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound are some strategies that have been used to either manage bone defects or augment and accelerate fracture healing.
