YOU SHOULD KNOW…
As in the UK, it’s considered impolite to ask a woman how old she is. If you must ask, use a very formal level of language – you could say “Könnte ich Sie bitten, mir zu sagen, wie alt Sie sind?” (“May I ask you to tell me how old you are?”).
