ОглавлениеThe technique and the soul
The samurai’s technique may be perceived in their words and actions.
The samurai’s soul may be perceived in the way they speak and act.
The master warns:
Technique without soul is empty, useless and dangerous.
Soul without technique always leads towards technique.
Dark souls jeopardise their best gifts to develop their technique and put it at the service of their own darkness. They are a minority surrounded by a dark and foul halo. The greater their gifts, the bigger their fall.
Hazy souls lack strength. They walk in whatever direction and arrive nowhere. Their technique is a dim glint that disappears as quickly as it appeared. They are an odd minority, because without summing or subtracting, they end up multiplying.
Luminous souls give themselves away without expecting anything in return. They do not seek technique, but receive it; they do not long for recognition, but find it; they do not wish to stand out, but they are the most select minority.
They only wish to serve and that is why they lead.
Because those who lead are not the smartest, nor the strongest, nor the richest. Those may give orders, but giving orders is not leading.
The only ones who will lead will be those who really deserve it.
