When time leaves

it never returns

it takes with it

the people you have loved

and who have loved you

how sad is then the time left to you?

And so I spend that time writing

about those

whom I have loved

and who have loved me

and who are no longer here

I write about my parents

my aunts and uncles

about my husband

my son who pre-deceased me

I write

so that in the writing

they may live again

so that I may be loved

and so that I may love again

I write about my brothers and sisters

My daughters and grandchildren
