Abstract
ОглавлениеBiotechnological research is an important future topic. The aim of the project is therefore to promote the competence of teachers in biotechnological methods using well-established research topics, e.g. theory and practice of PCR and agarose gel electrophoresis to analyze the bitter taste perception. To facilitate the implementation of biotechnological topics and methods, besides the teacher training additional didactics material is provided. The teacher training is organized regionally and free of charge. The courses are executed in the schools to demonstrate the implementation under teachers’ everyday conditions. Ideally, two teachers per school should register that they can support themselves during the implementation in their biology classes. The quality of the teacher training and the planned integration of biotechnology in biology classes were examined using a questionnaire. The five scales for self-assessment of instruction quality, material quality/benefit for biology class, biotechnological/didactic and practical expertise as well as motivation to deepen biotechnology and intended implementation show good reliabilities The positive evaluation of the instruction quality as well as the material quality/benefit for biology class indicates high acceptance and satisfaction for the teacher training. In common with the self-assessment of biological/didactic expertise, they are suitable for predicting the intended implementation. Subsequent to the teacher training the extensive loan of equipment for the biology classes further emphasizes the intended implementation.
