Conclusion

Оглавление

The first-person perspective, often embodied in situated action, is a fundamental access of humans to their world. The first-person perspective is an access to understanding the interplay of the individual with his/her world, and in this dialogue with the environment the world becomes meaningful. Furthermore, the first-person perspective is an intrapersonal affair in the form of experiences, thoughts, images or emotions which are – not to forget – based on earlier dialogues with the social world and on a general cultural embeddedness. In that sense, the first-person perspective can only be understood as being connected to situated action and as part of a process of negotiation with others. In any learning situation or area of personal and social developmental it seems inevitable to include first-person accounts as the basis for the deeper understanding of individual actions, but also for the understanding of the others and their way of acting. Initially body-anchored knowledge, expressed in first-persons accounts, can be recognized and valued as the clue for the building of communities of practice. Only by understanding each others’ experiences, thoughts, reflections, values, motives and aims are we able to build up well-functioning learning and working communities.
