Prefilters

Оглавление

Large particulates can be removed using prefilters. These are often screens, for example basket screens in skimmers, sock filters, or large rotating drum screens (Figure A3.3). Size of particulates trapped depends on the mesh size, typically reported in micrometers. With smaller mesh sizes, more particulate is trapped but more labor is required to clean the filters and avoid clogging. The mesh size should be such that water will still flow when the prefilter is saturated.
