Despite the fact that there are many possible risks and complications of dentoalveolar surgery, with adequate preparation, knowledge, and clinical skills, most of these remain as “possible,” and not “probable,” complications, but adequate informed consent is essential so that patients may be prepared in the unlikely event of a complication.
