Abstract
ОглавлениеMediation – a tool towards the increase of efficiency and high value added activities in enterprises
When people of different beliefs, interests, aims and solutions work together, then the existence of conflict is normal and predictable. However, any emerging disputes could be interpreted as entrepreneurial development that has the potential to lead towards economic efficiency. Indeed, it would appear that enterprises accept such conflicts as unavoidable and consequently the issue is not systematically addressed. Business mediation is a method by which misconceptions of conflict can be solved. This is a method of indisputable solving conflict that is relatively new and not as yet widespread throughout Germany. In accordance with marketing strategies, the author argues for the benefits of business mediation. This has the potential to lower sickness levels and to encourage more commitment amongst employees.
A high correlation is found between stress caused through conflict and dissatisfaction in the work place that results in illness and low productivity. The author argues that the benchmarking of these issues cannot in themselves solve these problems. Differentiated and systematic processes, supported by expedient methods should therefore be established in corporate structures. The aim should therefore be to-wards an integrated symbiotic relationship between existing systems of healthcare management and processes of conflict management. Such integration should necessarily include the training of management staff and healthcare experts in methods of conflict solving mediation. Two points emerge. Firstly, the method of mediation should lead to lower costs and higher efficiency. Secondly, the method should lead to enhanced long-term utilization of human resources towards companies within the framework of social responsibility.
