1.4.2. Mediation and moderation
ОглавлениеThese are effects of a characteristic of the family environment. In the case of mediation, two variables interact to affect the child’s development. For example, parental discord and the child’s tendency to assume guilt each have negative interacting effects; in the case of moderation, two variables are not causally related, but one (the parent’s ability to maintain good parenting) moderates the negative effects of the other (parental discord).
