One of my favorite blocks of all time is the star block from the Supernova quilt. I love that the star has 45 and 60 degree angles that create a curved appearance without needing to sew a curved seam. But I struggled with accuracy on this block. Sewing a long bias seam was daunting and it usually ended up in frustration and disappointment.

Then I found if I used a paper piecing method I could make a block without swearing! In fact, I loved the process; no distortion, points were sharp, and bias edge blocks matched when assembled. Who could ask for more?
