ОглавлениеAbout The Author
Award winning quilt maker, long arm quilter, designer, and teacher, Jeannie’s work has been published in magazines and displayed worldwide. She is the third generation in her family to graduate from O.C.A.D. (Ontario College of Art and Design) and was raised around art! She began sewing as a child and took a dressmaking course at the age of 10. That was the beginning of her love of sewing, making most of her clothes as a teenager.
Jeannie dabbled in quilting in 1979 when a friend commissioned her to make two quilts. It was before rotary cutters and other time saving tools, and the fabrics were less than inspiring. After a few commissions her interest waned, so she took a break for a number of years.
After graduating from college, Jeannie taught Arts and Crafts to seniors for the Toronto Board of Education. When one of the women in her class took her to a quilt guild meeting in 1990 it re-introduced her to quilting. The industry had changed and fabrics had improved. This began her journey into quilt making and she has never looked back.
Between starting a family, working and teaching in various quilt shops, Jeannie’s passion is just as strong today as it was in 1990. She loves sharing her passion with other quilters.
Jeannie lives in Toronto Ontario, Canada with her husband, two grown kids, their cat and two dogs.
