Summary

Оглавление

This chapter has offered simple strategies for starting the process of self-care. Just as every teacher has unique strengths and weaknesses and a distinctive classroom personality, so, too, will different teachers require different levels and forms of self-care. Some teachers may simply need the occasional chance to vent to a friend, while others may require intensive professional guidance. But the need for self-care is universal. Every teacher, whatever his or her level of experience or difficulty, needs to find ways to cope with the stresses of the 21st century classroom so that our students have the best-possible chance to learn in positive, effective learning environments. To this end, teachers who wish to successfully confront constant change must take self-care as seriously as anything else in the profession.
