Medina Steakhouse & Saloon

MEDINA

THE SPIRITS LED ME TO MEDINA STEAKHOUSE & SALOON, I AM CERTAIN.

Mary and I were headed north, on our way to more ghost-hunting adventures in Cleveland, when we developed car trouble just outside of Akron. I managed to pull off into a golf driving range and pro shop, where we waited more than three hours for a AAA wrecker to finally tow us to the repair shop only twelve miles away. While we waited for the wrecker I chatted with the manager of the pro shop. He told me about a haunted restaurant in nearby Medina that had been the recent subject of a newspaper article. He could not remember the name of the restaurant, however.

The next day, with the aid of a loaner car from the repair shop, we drove into Medina. I stopped at the library and was surprised to find a “ghost file” containing clippings about Ohio hauntings. In that file I found the newspaper accounts the golf manager had mentioned. They were about the Main Street Café, but in another clipping there was a brief mention of the haunting of the Medina Steakhouse & Saloon.

It turned out that the repairs my car needed were minor and easily accomplished. What at first was an inconvenience ended up being really nothing at all, but the breakdown and delay provided two new locations for me to explore. Maybe the Medina ghosts had joined forces to get me to stop and say hello.
