(Please note that this is an astrological perspective on health and not a medical one. In days of yore there was no difference, these perspectives were identical. But now there could be quite a difference. For a medical perspective, please consult your doctor or health practitioner.)

Health has basically been good over the past few years. Certainly there have been periods where your health was less easy than usual, but these periods came from the short-term planetary transits – they were temporary blips rather than trends.

In the year ahead health should be good too, but more delicate than in the past few years. In December of last year, Saturn moved into Sagittarius, in stressful aspect to you, while Neptune has also been in stressful aspect for some years now. And on August 11, Jupiter makes stressful aspects too. Thus health needs more attention this year, especially from September 18 onwards.

The most important thing is to watch your energy levels. Do your best to maintain high levels of energy. If you are tired, rest, and in general try to get more sleep. Try to arrange your activities so that more gets done with less effort, and delegate tasks wherever possible.

Give more attention to the following areas this year – these are the most vulnerable areas this year: the lungs, arms, shoulders and respiratory system; the colon, bladder and sexual organs; and the spine, knees, teeth, bones, skin and overall skeletal alignment. The lungs, arms, shoulders and respiratory system are always important for Gemini and the reflexes to these areas are shown in the chart. Arms and shoulders should be regularly massaged. Don’t allow excess tension to build up in the shoulders. Air purity is always important for you and you might want to invest in an air purifier.

The reflexes for the colon, bladder and sexual organs are also shown in our chart. The colon needs to be kept clean and regular colonics might be a good idea. Safe sex and sexual moderation are important too.


Regular back and knee massages will be useful (the chart shows the specific reflexes), as will regular visits to a chiropractor or osteopath. The vertebrae need to be kept in the right alignment. Yoga, Pilates, the Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais are excellent therapies for the spine and posture. Give the knees more support when you exercise. If you’re out in the sun remember to use a good sun screen. Regular visits to the dentist might also be a good idea.

Pluto, the planet that rules surgery, is your health planet so you have a natural tendency to surgery; you tend to see it as a quick fix. In the past two years (and for part of this year) Saturn has been in your 6th house of health, which reinforces this tendency. Keep in mind though that this also indicates that detox regimes are good for you.

When I look at your Horoscope on an overall level, I see a lack of the air element in the chart. There will be periods in the year where there is more air than usual (January 20 to February 18, May 21 to June 20 and September 23 to October 23) but this element is weak on an overall level. Make sure you are getting enough air. Watch your breathing and try to breathe deeply as often as possible. Regular breathing exercises will be beneficial.
