We mentioned earlier that spirituality is becoming a major interest in your life. Those born under the sign of Taurus are down-to-earth people, hard workers, focused on the things of the earth. But now you will learn that one moment of true intuition – one spiritual insight – is more powerful than all of your hard work. Being ‘other worldly’ has practical benefits. This is not the reason to engage in spirituality, but it is the natural side-effect.

Spirituality is very much a part of your career, and there are many possible scenarios here. As you involve yourself in charitable and altruistic activities, you meet the people who can help your career. Selfless service is a way of clearing negative karmic momentums – it balances old karma that has been holding you back.

Those of you not yet on a spiritual path will probably get on the path in coming years. Those already on the path will make much progress. In fact, your mission this year – and for the next seven years or so – is your spiritual work. Make it your mission and you will see fast progress.

Many don’t understand how spiritual exercises can be a ‘career’. If you analyse more deeply, you will see that these practices transform your mind and feelings, and then they change the minds and feelings of everyone you are connected to. These practices literally change the world.

Many people think that change in the world happens in 10 Downing Street or Washington, DC. But those who see more deeply, know the truth. Real change happens when one person, perhaps in the solitary confines of his or her room, or in a cave in the Himalayas, makes a spiritual breakthrough. This sets up a chain reaction that eventually manifests as changes in law or changes in government policy.

There are two spiritual paths that seem important this year. The first is learning about transformation and reinvention – the power of the spirit to transform the body and all material conditions (finance, career, the love life, etc.) The other is the scientific, rational understanding of the spiritual world and your spiritual practice. In some paths, the intellect is disdained and considered the enemy. But in paths such as Jnana yoga, hermetic science and kabbala, the intellect, purified of its errors, is actually a friend and an ally, and is taken along for the ride – not disdained.

This is also a year for going deeper into the spiritual dimensions of sex. For those of you of eastern inclination, tantra yoga or kundalini yoga would be good. For westerners, the path of hermetic science, gnosis and kabbala would be good. The year ahead, as mentioned, seems sexually active, and it is good to know the proper ways to engage in the act.
