The Lake

Оглавление

Johann challenged her to a race and Rissy was unable to refuse. Rissy’s red tresses were blowing in the wind as she rode and Johann stopped just to do nothing more than watch her. She was purely beautiful and brave. He could not believe it when she flew over the old fence as though she had been riding like this since she was born. He had seen Risanne ride like that but never the Rissy side. If there were any doubt that he had made a mistake long ago it was gone completely at this point. He had noticed the night before how peaceful he felt when she cuddled close against his back. He could not stop thinking of her and how blessed he was for having found her again and how much she meant to him, but more than that, how much he truly loved her.

He must have known that night long ago when he said goodbye to the one he had been hand-fasted to. Alma had told him that she knew he would end up making that choice and though it hurt both deeply, she had outgrown him and was now very powerful in her own right. She had given him her blessing after everything had settled and they still spent time together though not as lovers, but as dear friends. She was the one who finally told him to quit denying himself and take Rissy as it was meant to be. The signs they had both seen so many years ago had been mixed and the two of them saw something that was only temporary, but neither wanted to admit that then. It was only after hundreds of years before they could look at each other. After they ran into each other on a trip that both were taking were they finally able to see that their love had only been a stepping stone to things much greater than either could have ever imagined. He could almost hear Alma whisper to him “Go to her Johann. Follow your heart as you always have and give her freely what you have always tried not to do for fear of not being able to let go. I knew it the moment you called me to destroy you that night when you had Risanne tied to the bed and were so distraught that I even thought of doing so. If she hadn’t told you that she needed help with the innocent side of her, I would have done it to keep you feeling a pain worse than you when you were beaten and watching me die in your arms. She loves you just as much my angel as you love her and cannot fathom a life without you in it. She would sell her soul to keep you if she thought she would lose you forever. Go now and never push her away again. I just wish that I could have said that so many years ago when I saw the pain you were in fighting to balance your love between the two of us. Me, I was a love of honor and redemption that you felt you needed and you were mine; Rissy was the chosen one and we let that cause strife between us and eventually tore us apart and you almost lost her as well in the process. Hurry now and catch her, and yes my angel, she is simply beautiful but never tell her I said so.” With that he took off after Rissy, his dark locks bouncing in the wind and with the strides of the steed that carried him. He and his horse seemed to float over the fence and were soon by her side, where Johann reached over and kissed her as they flew like the wind in a storm down the path.

Soon they came to a lake. One that Rissy felt very familiar with. She looked at Johann and smiled when she saw the picnic basket. “Do you ever forget anything, Johann?” He stopped dead. “There was a time when I forgot something so very important and since then I try not to ever forget again.” Rissy pushed for more but he told her that he would tell her when his story came to that point. She had already learned not to question his timing or at least there was that small voice again telling her to be patient and the rewards would be great. It seemed that this time it was Rissy rushing things; not like long ago when the more expressive and aggressive side of her pushed so hard that it almost destroyed this moment.

She had melded and each side was now the whole. If Johann could have read her thoughts at that moment he would have seen how much so. Rissy didn’t want to hear the story today, she wanted to do nothing but make love to him all day and if she felt like it all night here by the lake. Her nude body could feel the memories of when one part of her was here with him and how she took him before he knew what was happening. Rissy’s cheeks were flushed when she looked at him and as he placed the blanket on the ground laying upon it she leapt upon him grinding herself into him. The look in her hazel eyes was that of desire and to her surprise, it scared Johann. Johann was at a loss as to what to do. Anyone who knew of him when he and Rissy had last met would have wondered what had happened to him for he was never known to be surprised by a lady’s desire. Then passion overtook him and he began kissing her deeply, his hands running all up and down Rissy’s body. Rissy took off her blouse and bra then opened his shirt and pressed her breasts again his chest but found that there was still too much material between them, so she waved her hand and it was lying beside the blanket. “There, that’s better” she said. It wasn’t long though before both were tired of the restraints of clothing and soon it was all beside the blanket. Johann kissed down her neck and chest moving over to her right breast and then over to the left. Rissy had her own ideas. She straddled him and arranged things so she could slide back and forth as Johann sucked on her breast and when his fangs first sunk in she began grinding her hips on him and for a second almost positioned herself for entry, but something held her back from going that far and she fought with herself as to if she should or not until the orgasm hit her and she felt his between her folds. She collapsed onto him and would not let go. “Johann I love you so much, but a girl still couldn’t allow entry. I’m sorry Johann. Please forgive a girl for her teasing you over and over. I almost did Johann and a girl doesn’t understand why she couldn’t allow it to happen though she desires it more than you know.” He brushed a few copper tresses off her face and looked deeply into her eyes. “Rissy, it really doesn’t matter that much. When you are ready you will and besides as you can tell, I had a great time.” She giggled. “Well sire, I think you can tell that a girl had an excellent adventure as well.” Truer words could not have been spoken; he could still feel her pulsating. They laid on the blanket her on top of him and both fell asleep.

It was a good thing that Johann had placed the blanket in a shaded area or Rissy would have been badly sunburned. He tried to wake her and she protested. “This is where I belong and I know that now and do not wish to spend another moment separated from you.”

He smiled at her. “I know the feeling my sweet love, but we need to go wash off a little.”

Rissy laughed. “I’m stuck to you and can’t pry myself loose.”

Johann jumped up holding her against him and she wrapped her legs around his waist. “But a girl wishes to stay stuck.” she said laughing.

“Well a girl is still going to get wet.”

“A girl thinks she still is Johann.” She hid her face in the crook of his neck after realizing that she had said it out loud. “Why not take advantage of a girl’s little problem?” Then the thought entered her head. “What if he takes me up on that? What if he doesn’t? What if he never wants to? What if there is something wrong with me and I don’t let him ever?”

As Rissy was consumed by these thoughts she felt the water climbing up her back as Johann carried her out into the lake and when he lowered her she closed her eyes waiting for the pain to follow, but it didn’t and she realized that he was simply moving her so she could wash herself off. In a way it upset her more than relieved her. She knew that he knew she was looking for a way to lose her virginity without her initiating it and she knew that he had told her that the time was her choice and not his. She hated that part of him and then she remembered that with her, he had always been like that. She somehow knew that with other women in the past that it had not mattered to him, but she was something more than a nice time. He truly did love her she realized, but there was one question she had never found the answer to or at least she didn’t think she ever had with him. “Johann, after I decide the time is right; will you still be so passive about initiating our lovemaking?” When she saw his smile she knew. “That much? I think I need a thigh master.” They both laughed so hard that Johann almost dropped her.

They walked out of the pond hand in hand to the blanket. Once there, they drank the wine straight from the bottle and ate the sandwiches that had been prepared for their little journey. They fell asleep and it was almost dark when they awoke. They debated whether they should go back to the house or not and finally decided that they would stay there. It was a warm evening and Johann gathered wood for a fire and Rissy lit it with her glance. Johann would have but he was not sure that Rissy was ready for that. She tried to get him to tell her more but he denied her requests and told her to wait until the next day. They made sure the horses were alright and took a short walk under the moonlight. There were many fireflies flying here and there and Johann and Rissy looked like children trying to catch them. When they did catch one, they let it go. Rissy’s hair sparkled in the moonlight and her skin had a bright glow. Johann stopped and watched her. He had missed this part of his life. He felt as though he were the most blessed creature walking the earth. Rissy had seemed to believe his story or at least had been pretending to but he was wavering back and forth on that thought. At least she was not running away screaming. Rissy looked over at Johann watching her and smiled. She felt natural running naked in the night. All of the stories she had been hearing sounded so strange and yet somehow she believed them. She remembered some parts being told to her long ago and she had thought they were just fairy tales but now she was questioning that belief. She was thankful that he had not pushed the story that day but knew it would start again in the morning. She slept better that night than the night before. Johann cradled her in his arms and snuggled close. She was sure that he could smell her scent as she was ready physically and for the most part mentally but she was sure nothing would happen until after marriage.

At break of day they heard a horse coming towards them and Rissy covered herself in the blanket. It was Charlotte with another picnic basket. “Well Rissy have you given it up yet? What a naughty girl you are taking him out to have your way with him.” “Just shut up Charlotte. I’m still a virgin. It was Johann who would not give in.” “Sure it was. I don’t believe that for a second.” Finally Johann broke in “Rissy is right.” Charlotte sat on the horse dumbfounded while Rissy smirked. “Well Mother told me to find you and bring this to you.” She held out the basket and Johann took it. “By the way Johann you still look in shape to me. If you need anything and I mean anything” while she looked at him and down to his crotch “give me a call and I’ll come, but probably not as loud as Rissy. She scared the quail yesterday. They flew from this way so I knew where you were.” “Leave us be, Charlotte” Rissy shot back. Charlotte left and Rissy flattened out the blanket. “I swear one day I’ll show her.” “I can’t wait to see it.” Johann laughed. The muffins were very tasty and Johann told Rissy that all of the ingredients come from the estate. “There was a time in America where they would as well.” Rissy chimed in. Johann pulled out a thermos of coffee and poured some for him and Rissy. “Well at least she was kind enough to bring coffee” stated Rissy. After breakfast Rissy knew it was time to begin once more. She was determined to listen closely. “I’m ready, Johann.” Johann began the tale. “The Moonshowers were good people. They had always assisted others in problems and could heal people. Down through the ages they were honored by kings and queens of great civilizations and even the lowliest beggar was welcome to come to them for assistance. They only performed the healing magic and magic for good, but knew the dark magic as well. It was thought by the whole clan that all magic should be known to be able to assist people in defeating the dark forces. They were the only clan to never have a dark witch, but no one knew why. Now is the time to unravel this mystery.

There was once a young girl of the clan who appeared to be very pure. The truth was that she was as pure as any human could be. She was kind and loving and never gave in to any temptation. She was unlike many of the others due to her very fair and creamy skin, her copper hair, and her lovely hazel eyes. She would face any danger to help another, even when she was very young.

A member of the clan who preferred to live a short distance away from the others was a favorite of this young lady and growing up she always followed the boy who lived with this sorceress. She would help him with many tasks and she learned powerful magic from her cousin Sera. Even at age ten she could heal with little more than a thought. Her friend, the boy, was always impressed by her abilities. Anything he tried usually didn’t work and once he almost exploded himself and had it not been for this child, he would have died. She would do anything for him and as they grew older, they became closer and closer to the point of not being able to spend any length of time apart for the heartache they felt would make them irritable and moody.

Unbeknownst to Johann, the boy, and Rissy, the young lady, Sera went to the elders of the clan and plead her case to let them be married. There was little opposition except for the fact that all anyone knew of his beginnings was that Sera had found him in the woods alone, but then again he had always jumped in to help anyone and had held many of the clan member’s hands as they died. He was always willing to learn and rarely shunned any request and even when he had the task would be performed within a few minutes. Everyone acknowledged his love for the lovely girl all of fifteen at this time and he was not much older.

After the meeting, all of the elders called for all clan members to come to the village center. Once everyone was there, it was announced that these two would be married if they so desired. They were the only two not there for having to watch the horses while the important members of the clan had their meeting. As the meeting was commencing, the boy turned to the lovely girl. ‘Rissy, I want to know if you would spend the rest of your life with me.’ He pulled out a copper ring with a polished garnet in the center. He had made it just for her. They had often gone out in the fields and Rissy would make rings out of flowers and once the boy had held onto one of them that she took off and made the ring the right size for her. He may not be able to perform magic, but he had a gift for making things. Rissy looked at him and as tears ran down her face, she said, ‘Johann, I would love to if only my family would approve.’

He had a confident look and kissed her. ‘I shall speak with the elders and I shall gain their approval or die trying.’ Rissy knew he was serious and when the others came back, Johann took Rissy’s hand and went straight to the elders who were still standing around talking. Johann asked them if he could have a moment of their time, to which they agreed. Johann stood straight and tall and faced them seriously. Rissy held back and watched silently. Sera came up behind her and asked what Johann was up to. Rissy smiled and said, ‘He’s asking them for permission to marry me.’ Sera perked a brow and held Rissy’s hand as they watched and listened.

‘You great and wise men of the Moonshower clan, I know that I am an outsider and not a magician or witch. I cannot perform any great acts but one. I will respect the decision you make of this lowly one’s request. I have always tried to do my best to show you all respect and have done what I can to assist you in anything that you have requested. I will be the first to admit that I have had my moments of disrespect, but I also always have followed through on your requests. I love the one named Rissy very much and would like permission to marry her.’ The elders told him to wait while they considered the request. They took their time and finally the most senior elder spoke. ‘Johann we have discussed your request and though you are not of this clan, you have shown yourself to be worthy of such an honor. We wish you and Rissy happiness in your lives together.’ Johann almost fell to the ground and thanked them profusely. When he turned around Sera and Rissy had tears in their eyes. ‘You have done well my child and have shown yourself to be a man. I give you both my blessing.’ Sera stated. Rissy finally was able to get words out. ‘Thank you Johann for going forth and asking as is proper. I love you so much.’”

Rissy saw the story unfold before her. She had kept her eyes closed since Johann had begun this story. She wished that she would have done so two days ago when he first began the story. Johann sensed this and stopped for awhile. He decided that they both needed something to eat and so he got the chicken out of the basket that Charlotte had brought with her when she had delivered the muffins. Charlotte had also packed another bottle of wine. “Johann what became of them? Did they marry?” “Rissy, I’ll continue after we eat.” Johann seemed to be taking his time at lunch and Rissy was a little frustrated. This story was making sense in a weird sort of way. As bad as she wanted to hear more she followed Johann into the pond where they swam for a bit. Rissy saw his wings for the first time then. She had not seen them at the office due to her anger and focus on Wilson. It hit her, really hit her that these stories were very true and perhaps what he was telling her was not farfetched. It dawned on her that maybe it truly was her in the painting in her room. She felt her neck and for a second she thought she lost the necklace but realized that she did not wear it on this trip. She wished she had now. The beginnings of the world was when this all happened. She wondered how many centuries had passed since then. She heard Johann say “More than I can remember. Remember to me it has all been on the same timeline and I have little concept of human time.” Rissy still could not believe everything even though every fiber of her being was telling her it was all true. It was then that she understood why Johann had taken this little break; he wanted her to process all of the things he had been telling her. Her mind raced and reeled and she saw everything all over again. She did not even know when she got out of the pond and laid down until she awoke. It had been several hours since lunch. “Please Johann, get on with the story. I need to hear more. I’ve started seeing it unfold and feelings are coming to me.” Johann nodded his head and began once more.

“Johann and Rissy spent more and more time together except when Rissy was preparing for the wedding, and were very happy. It was not long, however, when Rissy began having nightmares about Johann dying. He told her that they were just silly dreams because she was nervous and that he too had been having similar nightmares about being separated from her. This relieved some of her tension but not all.

One day as Johann was gathering wood and herbs Rissy came to him very frightened and would not leave him. She coaxed him into making love to her though he protested knowing this was against her beliefs. So you know the story and that he and Sera were mortally wounded and Sera died on her way to Valhalla and he was saved. Rissy was terrified when he came back but after a time she found herself in his arms once more.

What most people do not realize is that Johann and Rissy consummated their love after his rebirth and there were children from their union. They were a mix of angel and witch and became more powerful. The blood that flowed through their veins was dominant and remained that way no matter who they married. If they followed through on the righteous path and doing good works, then they became stronger and if not they became weaker.

This went well for centuries and through time the power of the Moonshower clan became held in high regard, however there came a time in which a new religion sprang up and as it spread so did intolerance and ignorance. Johann had always stayed close to the family and married an incarnation of Rissy who went by Risanne.”

“Johann, you’ve mentioned Risanne several times since we have met. Is this the same one?”

“Yes Rissy she is.”

“Did you love her?”

“I did. Listen Rissy maybe I should wait a little longer.”

“No, I am ready to hear it. I can deal with this so stop treating me like a little girl. I am a woman.” Rissy was surprised that this came out so forcibly. She wondered if Johann would be angry with her. This was the response he wanted from Rissy. He needed to make sure that her personality was strong enough for this. “Why do you talk in third person in these stories?”

“Because it flows easier, Rissy.”

“Well are you going to tell me more about Risanne?”

“Yes but at the next break we will be traveling back to the house.”

“I have no problem with that. I need a shower and I think I’m going to steal yours.”

Johann thought this was exactly like something Risanne would have said. This intrigued him.

“Many years passed after Rissy died perhaps even centuries. Johann had no sense of time; he only knew that it had seemed like a long time to him. This is the same being that in the year 2009 said that the Roman Golden Age was only a few weeks ago.”

Johann winked but Rissy had her eyes closed, but a smile did cross her lips. She remembered him talking about Rome one day when they were discussing their honeymoon a few weeks ago. They were discussing the Coliseum. He said something about games being held there and that he would like to go. Rissy then showed him a picture that showed the ruins of it. She had thought he was joking, but not so much now.
