I give thanks to my daughter Elizabeth Joy for always being there with love, laughter and caring and allowing Mum to do it her own way. Also for being generous enough to share your many ideas and creative thoughts, some of which found their way into this book, so thank you for being a huge part of my life, with love Mum.

To my ex-husband Leslie – along the way you always seemed to know what positive thinking books to bring home when I ran out of them. Thank you for the happy times (and there were lots) and lessons learned in the not so happy times.

Peter my eldest son, what great conversations and understanding we had along the way and the love you gave. You too have my love and respect, you, Mary and your family have done well. I am proud of all of you.

Barry my youngest son, you were the first to accept and understand that your mother was a little different; I thank you for your support and help in those early days when I wasn’t sure of myself.

It’s great to see you and Delma so happy. You’ve come a long way.
