Chapter 4: Helping Joe Escape
ОглавлениеAs the sun set behind Dusty Gulch, casting long shadows on the quiet streets, David and Joe were faced with a dilemma. Cowboy Joe, with an expression of insistence in his eyes, confided to David that he was on the run and needed to leave town quickly to hide from the authorities.
Feeling a surge of determination and loyalty towards his newfound friend, David realized he had to help Joe escape. A plan formed in his mind, and David whispered to Joe:
– I’ll help you, Joe. We’ll get you out of here in one piece, I promise.
Under the cover of darkness, David and Joe ventured into the stables where the horses were kept. With experienced hands they saddled a sturdy horse-drawn carriage, the wheels creaking quietly as they prepared to make their daring escape.
As they set off, the city slept peacefully, unaware of the secret mission unfolding under the cover of darkness. David led the carriage through blind alleys and hidden paths, skillfully navigating the streets to avoid detection.
The clatter of hooves on the dusty ground echoed in the silence of the night as they approached the outskirts of town. Joe’s eyes glistened with gratitude and relief as he turned to David:
– You’re a true friend, David. I owe you more than words can express.
With a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie, David smiled back at Joe, «We make a great team, Joe. I’m excited to learn from you and become the best cowboy I can be.
