Простое настоящее время (Present Simple) используется для выражения:
Регулярных действий
I go to school every day. — Я хожу в школу каждый день.
She plays tennis on Mondays. — Она играет в теннис по понедельникам.
Общих истин и фактов
Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius. — Вода кипит при 100 градусах Цельсия.
The sun rises in the east. — Солнце встаёт на востоке.
Формы глагола
Для I / you / we / they: глагол в начальной форме
I play football.
They like music.
Для he / she / it: добавляется -s или -es
He plays football.
She watches TV.
Отрицательные предложения
Для I / you / we / they: do not (don’t) + глагол
I don’t like pizza.
Для he / she / it: does not (doesn’t) + глагол
She doesn’t like pizza.
Вопросительные предложения
Для I / you / we / they: do + подлежащее + глагол
Do you play football?
Для he / she / it: does + подлежащее + глагол
Does he play football?
Особенности:
После he / she / it добавляется -s или -es к глаголу.
В отрицаниях и вопросах глагол остаётся в начальной форме.
Наречия частоты (always, often, sometimes, never) обычно стоят перед основным глаголом, но после to be.
