“Not until he is done with work, right around our dinnertime. Work has been very busy.

Now go to sleep and rest for a while,” I urged Samantha.

“OK, Mommy.” And back to sleep Samantha went with a big yawn.

Thor asked me, “What will I grow up to be? I want to do something really important!”

I replied, “You are a smart boy and have a keen nose to smell all kinds of different things.

What do you think about becoming a police dog? You will be a big help to our officers and

assist in keeping them safe.”

Thor said, “Whoa, a police dog would be cool! I know I can smell danger and alert the

police officers. I know they will be very proud of me.”

“That’s right, Thor,” I barked in agreement. “Remember you are faithful and patient. Your

job will require both of these gifts and you will be terrific! Now try to get back to your nap.

You need to rest so you can grow into a strong, healthy police dog.”
