I said to Jas, “We’d better get back before she gets home because I have borrowed her Gucci handbag. She specifically said she would kill me if I ever borrowed it. She is very, very mean with her things, which is why I have to borrow them in secret.”

As we walked down the street I had another idea. “Let’s keep pretending we are French as well.”

“Why?”

“Don’t you mean pourquoi?”
