All measures in this book are level.
To measure a spoonful of dry material fill spoon and level off with a knife.
One half spoonful is measured by cutting one spoonful through lengthwise.

| 2 tablespoons butter = 1 ounce |
| 1 cup solid butter = ½ pound |
| 2 cups flour = ½ pound |
