Incident at Heart Lake

Оглавление

The incident happened at a little place called Heart Lake in the northern part of Brampton, Ontario.

At that time my dad was a member of the Lions Club, a charitable society whose members are made up of volunteers who help serve the needs of the people in their community.

Every year the club would host an annual family picnic and on this particular glorious summer day they had chosen a little place called Heart Lake.

I didn’t know on that warm Saturday in July that I would be the one who was going to require some assistance and it wouldn’t come from my father or a Lion’s Club member, but through an intervention of a different nature.

All the kids who could swim that day were out in the lake on a raft. We had been lying in the hot sun most of the afternoon and had decided to take a dip to cool off.

The minute I jumped into the water I knew that it was a mistake. One of my new friends misjudged the distance between us and jumped into the lake on top of me. I was forced downward from the impact and knew instantly that there was not going to be enough air left in me to get back to the surface.

When I finally reached the bottom, I dug my feet into the silt and thrust myself upwards. I opened my eyes in the murky water to see how far I had to go. It was a long way up and my lungs were already bursting from the lack of air. I couldn’t hold my breath any longer and knew this was the end for me.

It was at that moment in time when I was engulfed by a strange glow. It lit up the water around me.

At once I felt protected and safe. I thought that if this was what it was like to die then it wouldn’t be so bad, so I took a deep breath and prepared to meet my Maker.

Surprisingly enough I did not gulp down muddy lake water but inhaled pure fresh air. It was enough life giving essence to take me to the top!

After reaching the surface I quickly swam to shore. Dragging myself out of the water I turned to look back over my shoulder.

In a dazed state I sat there by the shoreline reflecting on the miracle that had just taken place. I asked myself the questions, “What was that strange Light that had surrounded me and most importantly, where did that air come from?”

I came to the realization that there was only one explanation for this strange phenomenon and that was once again my Guardian Angel had intervened on my behalf, only this time, she had safely wrapped me up in her Divine cloak of protection.
