The Light of the World
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, and the earth was without form and void and darkness covered the face of the deep. And God said let there be light and there was light. Genesis 1:1–2 KJV
The Bible begins on a very positive authoritative note. The earth lay in absolute darkness, devoid of anything but a band of clouds so deep that all was darkness. God looked down upon it and then he commanded that there should be light, and light appeared. That light came straight from the throne of God.
There was no primordial soup and methane which produced blotches of lifeless protoplasm after eons of years. Light was the first essential that was put on planet Earth to prepare it for the millions of varieties of life that were to come later. For life to exist on this planet there are at least four important elements which it must have:
1 light
2 oxygen
3 water
4 food
Those are the most important things that are absolutely necessary. That light began the twenty-four-hour process as the earth turned on its axis to create daylight and night. In that light were all the ingredients which activated other rays that were necessary for the beginning of life. It revealed a planet covered with water. As we know, water comes from two gases: hydrogen and oxygen. Besides these two there are many others which are absolutely necessary. The largest concentration of gas is seventy-eight per cent nitrogen. This prevents the hydrogen and oxygen from igniting into a mass of fire.
