Chapter 1: Changing Your Mentality

It may sound ridiculous but it’s true. You do have to change your mentality if you want to feel better and to rid yourself of your pain and anxiety.

If you resort to a professional’s help, they’ll probably tell you the same thing. Remember, it’s your body. People can only help you not change you. No matter how much someone can influence you, in the end, it’s up to you to decide for yourself.

It’s important to keep note of how you react to certain circumstances. Panic and anxiety happens for a reason. It’s not always going to be a health or mental problem that you have or that you were born with.

Some people become stuck with it over time. However, it is curable. This is when you have to take a deep look at yourself and pay close attention to your surroundings.

Bring a notepad with you or use your phone. It doesn’t matter what as long as you’re able to jolt down little notes about yourself.

Don’t expect yourself to remember every single place that you’ve visited in a day. Don’t especially expect yourself to remember how you felt at each place you’ve visited within that day.

If you want to know the reason for your anxiety then take the effort to realize what is causing it. Besides, if you’re thinking about consulting a counselor or a therapist of the sort, they are going to ask you a lot of questions and if you don’t have the proper answer then they won’t have the proper solution.

So save yourself the trouble of wasting one therapy section and find the reasons without being told to.

How You Want to See Yourself:

No one can see himself or herself without having to look at a mirror, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t use your imagination.

Believe it or not, the best way to change is to visualize. If you can imagine yourself being productive, or successful, or anything you want to be, you will be one step closer to achieving your goal. The reason this method works so well is because you’re already starting your journey with a positive attitude.

Think about it, if you had a goal and you attacked that goal with a negative attitude do you think that you will be very successful in ever accomplishing that goal? The answer would be “not likely” right?

In order to succeed, you must be able to visualize your success. Don’t stop imagining throughout the process. It’s going to be rough and you’re going to feel negative at times; however, as long as you maintain confidence that you will succeed then you will be one step closer to your goals.

Think about the top ranked entrepreneurs. Did you think that they were able to create such a successful business by sitting around and pondering about whether or not they were going to succeed?

Did you think that they wavered in their decision? It’s obvious that they did not just sit around and drowned themselves in their own negativity.

For them, they imagined their success everyday from the moment that they wake up to the moment when they went to bed.

Success and accomplishment is always on their mind. They can always visualize the future that they want for themselves.

So it’s your job to do the same. Start thinking about how you want to see yourself in the future and keep that mental picture in your mind at all times.

The more you imagine yourself in the future, the more you’re going to want it for yourself. Seeing might be believing but you can only see it if you believe in it first.

Attitude Makeover:

You’re definitely going to need an attitude adjustment before you can fully start curing yourself. When people say that character is important, they are right.

Throughout the course of your lifetime, your character can either make or break you. If you’re an optimist then you will see life as an enjoyment. If you’re a pessimist then you will see life as an obstacle without entertainment.

Your character will play an important role in your life so be careful about where you’re steering yourself towards.

In terms of getting rid of your panic an anxiety problems, your attitude is going to be important. Although it’s well known that taking action is what’s really important, attitude is ranked slightly higher in the hierarchy.

The reason for that is because, without the proper mindset, you will get nowhere.

Simply put, you can work as hard as you want to but if there is no motivation then there will be no progress. Therefore, it’s important that you maintain a strong and confident front despite the struggles.

The main purpose of chaining your attitude is to make your life easier. It’s going to take time but it’s going to be worth it.

You can’t get rid of panic and anxiety by having negative thoughts since those are the causes for those symptoms.

Besides, do you think that it’s fun to live day by day with your head filled with nothing but stress, depression, or self-awareness? Of course it isn’t.

However, most people have difficultly changing themselves and changing their mindset. One reason can be that they are still confused as to who they want to become from that change while another reason can simply be because they are scared of the change.

Either way, there is an unnecessary force that is holding them back that they can’t get out of. In order to overcome that force, you have to take a risk.

You have to move away from your comfort zone and be prepared for a change within yourself.

As of right now, you are too comfortable with your life, meaning that you are too used to dealing with your panic and anxiety problems.

If you wanted to get rid of those symptoms then you will do whatever it takes in order to get rid of it.

Yet, the fact that you have done nothing means that you aren’t very much willing to change. That’s why having an attitude makeover is important to getting rid of your symptoms.

Remember, in order to be able to take proper actions, you must first change your mentality. Always keep a positive mind and never let negativity drag you away from your goal.

Start Relaxing:

Relaxation is the cure to stress and a disorderly life. Both your mind and body requires relaxation, as there are also health benefits that follow it.

Your body is very sensitive to your emotions and thoughts. Negative thoughts lead to negative results on your body and positive thoughts leads to a healthy lifestyle.

Unfortunately, people are easily drawn into negativity than anything else. Anything positive usually requires a lot of effort for people to obtain.

If you haven’t noticed, life becomes twice as easy when you’re relaxed. The main reason as to why most people have had a hard time managing their life is because they are constantly stressed out on a daily basis.

Normally, vacations are the only means of relaxation for most people. However, how many times can the average person afford a vacation, let alone find the time for one? The answer would be hardly ever.

Most people in society are living from paycheck to paycheck on a monthly basis. They can’t find the time to relax nor do they have sufficient amount of money to pay for a relaxation trip.

In the end, for most people, their only way to get rid of stress is money to spend.

So how can you relax when you don’t have the money? It is simply through meditation, which will be covered in the next chapter.

Right now, work on calming yourself by taking deep breaths and ignoring the world around you. Everybody was young once.

Thus, everybody has daydreamed before. That is another way of relaxation. In order to completely relax your state of mind, you have to stop thinking about the things that stresses you out.

This would bring you back to the visualization section. Relaxation is all about visualization.

If you want to feel calm then you have to imagine yourself being calm. It all starts with taking deep breaths and ignoring all of your issues.

Find some time to isolate yourself from the rest of the world and make yourself comfortable to your surroundings.
