This year marks the start of a new decade in the Wood Ox’s life. Hopeful, determined and in true Wood Ox style resolute, he will be keen to make the most of it. Although it may not always be an easy year, what he accomplishes during it can have considerable bearing on the better times that await.

One feature of the Goat year is that situations can be volatile, and the Wood Ox, who likes to be sure of his ground, will find some events giving rise to uncertainty. However, while he may have his misgivings about certain developments, on several occasions they may ultimately prove of value. As Henry Ford noted, ‘Problems are opportunities in disguise,’ and so it will be for many Wood Oxen this year.

At work, many Wood Oxen will already be established in a particular role and keen to take their career to a new level. However, progress may not be easy this year and these Wood Oxen would do well to broaden the range of positions they are prepared to consider. Important headway is possible this year, but it may involve a substantial change of duties.

This also applies to Wood Oxen who are seeking work or looking to make a change. Rather than restrict their search to one particular type of work, they should widen its scope, as well as seek the advice of employment officials. By showing their resolve and willingness to learn, many will be given the chance to prove themselves in a new way. April, June and September to early November could see key developments.

To help their situation, all Wood Oxen will need to work closely with others throughout the year and seize any chances to raise their profile. More independent-minded Wood Oxen, do take note. Contact and commitment are vital to success this year.

Although many Wood Oxen will see a modest rise in income over the year, money matters need to be handled with great care. With important purchasing decisions likely, as well as personal and travel costs, there will be many demands on the Wood Ox’s resources. Throughout the year he needs to budget carefully and check the terms of any new agreement he enters into. Rush or lack of care could lead to regret. Wood Oxen, do be careful and thorough.

With this being their thirtieth year, many Wood Oxen will have travel on the agenda. Again, this needs to be carefully budgeted for, but for quite a few Wood Oxen, it could be a highlight of their year.

The Wood Ox can also derive considerable pleasure from his personal interests. No matter whether he prefers practical pursuits, creative activities or the outdoors, the Goat year can open up interesting possibilities, and by being game, the Wood Ox will be pleased with how many of his plans develop. Wood Oxen who are keen to do something different (and many will feel the time is ripe for a new challenge) will find that if they follow up possibilities, their actions can bring unforeseen benefits, including, in some cases, extending their social circle and getting out and about more. Goat years may have their awkward aspects, but they do offer scope and diversity.

This will also be an important year domestically. Many Wood Oxen will have been thinking through plans for their accommodation and changes that might make their lifestyle easier. Although some of these will be for the longer term, it is important that the Wood Ox talks his ideas over with those close to him, including more senior relations. By considering possibilities, costing options and combining views, he may be able to set his plans in motion. Some may develop in a different way from what was originally proposed, but by the year’s end many Wood Oxen will be pleased with what they have undertaken.

Amid all the activity, the Goat year will also have its special moments. Not only will his loved ones be keen to mark the Wood Ox’s thirtieth birthday in style, but some Wood Oxen could see an addition to their family. All will enjoy sharing activities, making plans and encountering the surprises the year will bring. Personally, this can be a full and interesting time.

The Wood Ox can also benefit from the year’s social opportunities and may well find himself in increasing demand as the year progresses. Late March to early June, August and December could see the most social activity.

For the unattached, affairs of the heart can add considerable excitement to the year, with quite a few Wood Oxen meeting their future partner in a way that seemed destined to be.
