1.10.2 Development
ОглавлениеThe Advanced Federal PET Diploma has its origin in the master craftsman examination (Meisterprüfung) and was already subject to state regulation in 1933 in the first Federal Vocational and Professional Education and Training Act.[8] Since then a lot has changed in the tertiary sector (cf. Fig. 1-8). The Federal PET Diploma has been added. With the technical schools (Technikerschulen) a new type of school emerged, which developed into colleges of higher education, today called professional colleges (höhere Fachschulen) (cf. Chapter 1.11, p. 63). Many of the traditional colleges of higher education (today: professional colleges) have later been developed into universities of applied sciences. The number of candidates of both examinations is comparable today to the figures of graduates from universities and universities of applied sciences (cf. Table 2-3, Chapter 2.1, p. 102).
As already mentioned, the principle according to which the preparation for the exam is not regulated has been contravened, particularly for the examinations according to the modular system. This can be seen particularly clearly by the example of the training for police officers, where admission requires the attendance of one of the police academies.
