Summary
ОглавлениеRegression modeling involves the use of one or more regression equations to examine a particular coefficient in greater depth. Control modeling involves adding additional independent variables to a regression equation and examining how the coefficient for the independent variable of interest changes with the addition of the variables. Interaction modeling involves considering how the effect of one independent variable depends or is conditioned on the effect of a second independent variable. Researchers use spline variables to model possible nonlinear effects of an independent variable on a dependent variable.
The reason for using regression modeling techniques is to test research hypotheses. In this book, I use a discrete approach that focuses on group differences to explain regression modeling. The key objective of this book is to provide regression modeling tools that social science researchers can use to test research hypotheses.4
