Section 4 Assassin vs. Minstrel
ОглавлениеPressing down hard on his inner shock, Salvador slowly turned around and faced the unknown opponent in front of him. All samurai swordsmen more or less mastered the use of aura or energy field in the process of training. Even the average soldier, after a long battle, can naturally learn to sense his opponent’s killing aura, or to exude the corresponding aura himself to counteract it. High-ranking warriors are able to distinguish the unique aura of each individual, and even use this to “see” the opponent’s attack clearly without using their eyes. As for specially trained assassins like Salvador, they were far superior to ordinary martial artists in terms of aura induction. Even an ordinary master of fame was completely unable to hide his presence in front of him.
And this poet-like guy in front of me, actually did it. And so completely hidden that he didn’t even notice when he passed by.
Who the hell was this guy?
Searching through his brain’s database, Salvador still couldn’t find anyone with a similar look. This showed that he was not deliberately hide their strength, but the practice of a special art of the hermit superior. But his confidence was not shaken at all. Because he has absolute confidence in his ability. After all, a warrior or wizard without actual combat, no matter how smart he is, will often only be slaughtered when he meets an assassin who is experienced in a hundred battles.
It is important to know that fighting is not the same as killing. The former requires only a fair and just defeat of the opponent, while the latter requires killing its own enemies by any means necessary. There is no doubt that when it comes to life and death, almost always the one who has the advantage is the one who knows how to give the enemy a fatal blow with the fastest and most ruthless technique, rather than the warrior who has to follow the martial arts, or the wizard who only knows how to bury his head in his books every day. Half a moment’s hesitation in the moment of life or death is fatal enough, not to mention the indecision that comes from no experience of killing.
However, he didn’t make light of the other person either. In any case, caution is absolutely necessary when facing an opponent whose situation is unclear. So his face, still plastered with a smile.
“May I ask who your Excellency is? I’m just going about my business, so please don’t make it difficult for me.” With a respectful curtsy, Salvador eased up. Even in the face of this person, he still could not feel that the other party had any breath of existence, as if there was no one at all in that position. But in the eyes of the man, the man was biased to exist again, a sensory disconnect that made him so hard he almost spat blood.
“I’m just a wandering entertainer, making the world my home and occasionally minding the outside business ,” Felix laughed faintly as he fiddled with the lyre in his arms a few times.Whatever the case, he almost always kept that faint smile, even in the face of a killer like Salvador.“On the contrary, Your Excellency, it seems a bit unreasonable for the envoy of the Yagra Kingdom to forcefully bring back the successor of your vassal state, Solanian.”
When his words came out, the other three in the room were astonished. Livia and Yoshi were not expecting their identities to be revealed, while Salvador was in shock and the killing thought has emerged. An outsider who knew about this must not be allowed to live in the world. Otherwise, if the information was leaked, it would be a great blow to the master’s plan. Anyway, he’s going to take action.
However, even so, his eyes were still humble and gentle.
“Sir was joking.” Salvador smiled and had stepped forward quietly. “How can I possibly force them? I’m just taking the two wayward kids back on orders from their families. If they don’t go, I cannot help it.”
With the last word still in his mouth, the killer’s figure had disappeared. There was no superfluous movement, and in a flash of lightning, his wrist flipped. A dagger, shimmering eerily green, had appeared in his hand, and struck the minstrel’s throat like lightning. A quick and desperate slash, but it didn’t bring the slightest sound of wind. Like a lover’s gaze, the moment you see those shy eyes, you are already intoxicated.
The dagger, however, is not meant to make people drunk.
It wants people to die.
A flash of light!
Amidst the sister and brother’s shrieks, the fatal killing slash had stabbed straight into Felix’s throat!
On Salvador’s face, however, there was no sign of triumph. On the contrary, his usual composure had vanished, and his eyes, usually full of gentleness and humility, now had something more.
For the young minstrel smiled as he watched the dagger pierce his throat, and then the moment the dagger touched the skin, the whole person spread out like a wisp of light smoke and disappeared without a trace.
“Hell, it’s phantom magic!” A low curse was uttered. Salvador closed his eyes and experienced the waves of the magic around him with his keen senses. It wasn’t that he hadn’t considered whether this unsuspecting opponent was made up of phantoms, but this phantom was really beyond his knowledge of magic.
As we all know, illusion spells are not complicated. A freshly graduated apprentice wizard can also create a phantom to scare people. However, to be able to manipulate a fantasy to such an extent that Felix did was simply unthinkable. After all, Salvador had been watching his every tiny movement. Even a slight twitch in the corner of his eye could be noticed. As long as he acted with the slightest unnatural behavior, the killer had the confidence to easily see through its disguise. However, A vision like this, able to breathe, able to speak, able to make the slightest movement, is hardly the power of the phantom system.
But it also suggests that its operator must be using stealth techniques to hide nearby. Otherwise, the illusion would not have been made to such a fine degree. In this case, Salvador was sure that he could found the enemy in the shortest time. This is because if a spell of this type is used that requires a long spell accumulation, there must be an abnormal accumulation of magical elements in that position. In front of experienced people, it’s like lighting a campfire on a white snow field.
Sure enough, as he searched, he soon became aware that, to his left, a very thin magic mass was slowly moving towards the door. The concentration was so rare that it could be said that even if a highly skilled mage personally checked it, it was not necessarily felt. But for an experienced killer like el Salvador, it’s not a problem at all. But that was not what he was looking for.
For a mage capable of producing this level of illusion, the killer would never dare to take it lightly. If his phantom could deceive him, it would not be very difficult for him to create a magic mass that could deceive his senses. Taking a deep breath, Salvador calmed down and let himself sink deeper into the ocean of magical elements. All the muscles and nerves reacted to the extreme, like a cheetah ready to kill.
Unsurprisingly, Salvador found what he wanted. Above that magical mass on the left, several extremely thin magical filaments wound their way to a place not far to the right.. And in that position, there was barely any magical fluctuation felt, almost like a black hole, with no presence felt at all.
Salvador smiled inwardly as he slowly moved to the left. The rustling of feet echoed in the empty tavern, strangely mingled with the strained breathing of the two siblings. The scene was quite eerie.
Suddenly he moved.
With all his strength, Salvador made a sudden leap, like a newly released cheetah, and swooped down on his left side. However, just as his blade was about to Pierce the magic mass on the left, and he took a deep breath, the killer twisted his body in the air in an incredible way. His feet also slammed into two nearby wooden tables, crushing them to pieces. In the dust, his figure had become a flowing rainbow, shot in the opposite direction.
Reappearance of knife light.
How fast can a knife go?
The wind is not as fast as it is, for it has cut through the wind.
The blink of an eye is not enough to describe it, because in the moment you blink, it is enough to penetrate you and fly without a trace.
The light of that moment was like a dazzling shooting star in the night sky, piercing the dim space and shooting straight toward its target.
The blood rushed out.
The seemingly empty space where the dagger had cut down suddenly burst into a shocking glow of blood.
A smile of relief rippled across Salvador’s face. The feel of the knife was solid, the feeling of chopping into the flesh. This time, it can’t be wrong. Although the opponent’s abilities was far beyond imagination, it was only at this level after all. Unfortunately, his identity was not known. But now that the mission was over, there’s no need for further complications.
However, his smile was permanently fixed on his face before it had a chance to disappear.
For two long steady fingers had been laid lightly on his spine. The magical cold streams that rushed out from those two fingers surged wildly into his body, completely blocking all of the killer’s movements.
“Why do you think that one of two phantoms must be real?” As if a little regretful, the minstrel’s voice rang softly in his ears . “I’m sorry, but I have to kill you. If you are not satisfied, please avenge me in heaven – no, maybe in hell.”
Whispering the incantation, five magical missiles (magic mission) were hardened into Salvador’s defenseless body, blasting his insides to pieces.
